Maguksan Dulle-gil: A Quiet Forest Trail in Icheon That Most Visitors Never Find
Off Map Korea
English-guided walking trips through Korea. Quiet trails, hidden villages, slow moments. Driver-only, self-guided.
What is Maguksan Dulle-gil?
Maguksan is a modest mountain, 445m above sea level — a comfortable height for a hike. The trail network has four courses, so you can pick one that fits your mood and energy. Routes range from 6.2km to 11.9km, suitable for anything from a light walk to a proper hike. (가을바람 타고 떠나는 힐링여행 '이천 둘레길' +2)
The highlight: Moga Forest (모가의 숲)
Past the stream, the trail opens onto Moga Forest, a wide grassy meadow created in 2020 as a resting space for hikers. [Describe your moment here — the light, the quiet, how it felt in late September.] (Welfarehello)
Before the meadow, you'll follow the Maguksan stream. Locals come here to cool off in summer, but camping and cooking aren't allowed. (Welfarehello)
Choose your route
Easy stroll (about 1 hour): From Seogyeong Reservoir to Moga Forest is about 1.5km one way, 3km round trip — roughly an hour on foot, or half a day if you linger by the stream. (Welfarehello)
Summit loop (6.2km): Haemaji Parking Lot → Moga Forest → Yonggwangsa Temple → Maguksan summit → small helipad → back to the parking lot (Course 2). (Welfarehello)
Full loop (14km): Seogyeong Reservoir to Moga Forest, the summit, Sanan Pass, the Agricultural Theme Park, Maebongjae and back — about 4 hours 50 minutes. (Mtime)
Why it's worth the trip
The trail starts near Seogyeongdeul Village, a farming area that once supplied rice to the royal table and still produces premium rice today. If you'd rather skip the climb, walk the stream, then eat in the reservoir village and enjoy the views. The area also has Termeden hot spring, golf courses and a traditional sauce village nearby — a hot spring soak after the hike is hard to beat.
Getting there
Here's the catch: Maguksan is difficult to reach by public transport, especially for first-time visitors who don't read Korean. A car or private driver is by far the easiest way — it's about an hour from Seoul.

Tips
Autumn is ideal — cool air and fewer people. [Add what you noticed today.]
Wear proper shoes if you're heading to the summit.
Bring water and snacks; facilities along the trail are limited.
